FAQ

1. Who can benefit from ARISF’s services?

Our services are primarily intended for refugees, asylum seekers, and newcomers settled in the Ottawa region (especially Overbrook–Vanier) and in Gatineau. Whether you have been here for a few days or several years, our doors are open.

2. Are your services free?

Most of our welcome, orientation services, and community workshops are free of charge. Some specialized entrepreneurship training programs or cultural events may require a symbolic contribution or membership in the association.

3. I live in Gatineau—can I participate in your activities in Ottawa?

Absolutely! ARISF is a binational association. We encourage movement between both sides of the river. Our projects, such as the Petit Open Festival, are designed to bring communities from both provinces together.

4. I don’t have a clear business idea—can I still join the mentorship program?

Yes. Part of our role is to help you explore your talents. Our exchange workshops are the ideal place for an idea to emerge and to see whether entrepreneurship is the right path for you.

5. How can I support the Petit Open Festival?

We are always looking for volunteers, artists, and local partners to relaunch the festival this year. You can contact us through the “Get Involved” section to offer your services or make a donation.
